Whether your business plans include expansion, acquisition, or exiting, setting goals is the first step to achieving success. This advice is commonplace, but most business owners are not heeding it. More than 80 percent of the 300 small business owners surveyed in the recent 4th Annual Staples National Small Business Survey said that they don’t keep track of their business goals– and 77 percent have yet to achieve their vision for the company.
Do Not Have Goals Set
Have Not Achieved Their Vision
If you are within the 20% of small business’s that have set goals our team will work with you to evaluate how you have been measuring up. We use three key metrics to evaluate your goals, first is from a financial perspective, second is from a customer experience perspective and third is through interviews with the owners and staff. Using these three perspectives we believe that we can create the most complete picture of what is really going on in your business.
Since 80% of small business’s don’t have goals set, Change Your Game will work with business owners to set goals using the SMART goal setting method. SMART is an acronym for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timely. This methodology is very widely used and was created in 1981. Once we have your goals set we can build your training solution based on your new goals!
With goals set and a training path determined we will be able to evaluate how you and your team are measuring up to your goals. Your company’s progress will allow us to make any adjustments as you progress and master specific skills.
Our Evaluate Services
Customer Experience Testing (CET) is where a member of the Change Your Game team will act as a guest in your restaurant or retail store. Our retail or food service expert will evaluate the environment, the service, and several other aspects of the overall experience. Every member of our CET team has a minimum of five years experience in retail/food service with at least one year in a leadership role in order to provide you with the perfect picture of what is happening in your business.
One of our specialists will act as a potential lead for your sales team. We will measure their sales ability, follow up, timeliness, and several other core competencies for sales. Customer service testing we act as if we are one of your clients calling in with a problem or concern and evaluate on several core customer service competencies.
Custom evaluation packages are designed for companies that want to work on specific areas of their business. Some of our clients with multiple locations choose to only test specific stores or sales people. The Change Your Game team will help you build a package with your goals in mind.
What Our Customers Are Saying
Don’t just take it from us, let our customers do the talking!
When operating in a niche market of the retail industry, it can be difficult to find consultants who understand the fine balance between our passion and our business. As a client, it is important for a business consultant to not only understand what we do, but also know who we are. Change Your Game provided our company with a different retail consultation experience, taking the time to get to know our company and our values before working with us to create real world solutions that suited the store, the company and our industry. As a growing company, we look forward to consulting with Change Your Game again in the future.
Over the past few months I have been in the process of starting my own business, and Corey was one of the first people turned to for counsel and advice. I knew I could count on Corey because he has great experience working with business owners to elevate their game and take their business to the next level, and he is also a successful entrepreneur in his own right.
Since I have started working more closely with Corey, I have seen the progress in my business development take off, and I know I would not be where I am today without his constant support. I love working with Corey because he makes his client’s interests his own, and will often check in on you before you even think about checking in on yourself!
I taught Corey at the University of Lethbridge. He stood out as someone who wanted value-add in the curriculum and not just a rehash of what the book says, which is unusual in a required course. He and his group conducted a great analysis of a small business, identifying their business process and marketing opportunities, and supplementing it with significant depth and solid recommendations for the business’ IS practice. I can attest to Corey’s strong oral and written communications skills, as well as solid critical thinking skills, along with a talent for spotting underserved market niches. I look forward to seeing how Corey’s career continues to grow and accelerate!
